Fifth time is the Charm!

Home style Tofu

Ingredients

>100 grams lean pork
>250 grams firm tofu
>1 green chili pepper
>1 red chili pepper

Seasonings

>Salt
>Corn starch
>white sugar
>cooking wine
>soy sauce
>broad bean paste

Preparation

>Clean pork then slice into strips about 2-3 cm long and 1-2 cm wide
>clean firm tofu and cut into triangular or diamond shaped chunks
>slice and seed peppers

Methods

>coat pork in soy sauce and corn starch evenly
>heat wok then fry tofu until yellow then drain
>add broad bean paste to wok then simmer til fragrant then add pork and cooking wine, allow pork to cook 80%
>Add tofu and peppers and then finish cooking

Today was the day that i finally got my bearings and enjoyed cooking to the fullest. I actually made a satisfactory dish i could be proud of. Next time i would definitely add much more sugar to the dish to cut the saltiness. Tofu is a great source of non animal protein and plays a key role in the diets of Chinese vegans.
